Chitosante Mask by Wade Baker, Coast Salish
Made from naturally anti-bacterial Chitosante fabric, these masks are breathable, durable and feature an interior pocket for filters. A collaboration between Coast Salish artist Wade Baker and Vancouver based designer Chloë Angus, this mask is emblazoned with a Chilkat design. Proceeds from the sale of each mask will be donated to the Downtown East Side Women’s Centre to support frontline workers and essential services.
Vancouver based designer Chloë Angus has been collaborating with Indigenous artists from across Canada since 2004 to unite art and fashion. This Chilkat design was re-rendered by Coast Salish artist Wade Baker from blankets woven by master weaver Anislaga (Mary Ebbetts Hunt), his direct ancestor.
