Made from reclaimed red cedar wood and glorious abalone shell, these Bentwood Boxes are not only beautiful and functional but ecologically conscious. Adorned with designs by Coast Salish artists Shain Jackson and Ray Natroaro all these boxes are produced by Spirit Works a 100% First Nations owned and operated company located on unceded Squamish First Nation land right here in Vancouver. A wonderful choice for instant gift giving, from corporate and group gifts to that little something special for your loved ones.
Bentwood Boxes are unique to the Northwest Coast First Nations peoples of British Columbia and are used for ceremonial and practical purposes; from burial boxes for ancestors to storage of clothing and household items. The Hummingbird is the joyful messenger and a symbol of health. When a Hummingbird appears, healing will follow.

The Wolf  can be considered a symbol of leadership and intelligence.  The wolf people shows us strength in relationships and the importance of strong family values.  Wolves live and hunt in packs or family groups.

The Dragonfly is a symbol of maturity, change and swiftness.  Dragonfly represent a self-understanding for mental and emotional maturity. 

The Frog is the voice of the people and a symbol of innocence, stability and communication. It is also considered to be good luck.

The Killerwhale is a communicator and highly regarded guardian of the sea. Whales travel together and symbolize long life and unity.

 The Thunderbird is a supernatural being and symbol of power. They live in the mountains and have lightning sticks under their wings. As thunder rolls, eyes blink and lightning flashes.

Shain Jackson is a Coast Salish Artist from the First Nation community of Sechelt. He is also a lawyer who has represented Aboriginal communities throughout British Columbia.  Shain is the President of Spirit Works Limited, an Indigenous Owned, Operated and staffed company focused on the design, production and distribution of Indigenous artwork. 

Ray Natroaro (Khaapulk, Sessiiyam) is a Coast Salish Artist from the Squamish Nation.  He is celebrated for his work in mask carving as well as the carving of large sea-going canes, a tradition passed down many generations in Ray's family.
