Sḵwálwen Botanicals is an Indigenous Owned and Operated Company founded by ethnobotanist Styawat (Leigh Joseph). Sḵwálwen (skwall-a-win) translates to “heart” or “essence of being” in the Squamish language. This name was chosen to represent the inspiration behind the business: building connections to the land through working with plants in a way that feeds one’s heart and spirit. Their Indigenous skincare line incorporates respectfully harvested botanicals, organic oils, nourishing plant-derived butters and steam distilled essential oils. Their products are handmade in small batches on the Unceded Ancestral and Traditional Territories of the Skwxẃu7mesh (Squamish) First Nation.
Ingredients: Rosa damascene (Rose) Flower Distillate, Chamaemelum nobile (Chamomile) Flower Distillate, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel) non-alcohol containing Distillate, Rosa canina (rosehip) Oil, Leucidal (Radish Root Ferment) Blend of Essential Oils.
Instructions: Spritz onto cotton pad and use after cleansing to remove any residual makeup or build up before moisturizing.
Each Facial Oil comes beautifully wrapped with information about the makers, products and Squamish language cards.
