KALKÁY (Wild Rose) Healing Salve by Sḵwálwen Botanicals
KALKÁY (call-kay) is the Squamish word for wild rose bush.
"Formulated with yarrow, wild rose petals and rosehip and infused into a blend of organic carrier oils, this multi-purpose salve is designed to aid in healing and soothing your skin. A powerful and restorative treatment for dry skin, small wounds, skin irritations or minor burns." - SB
Sḵwálwen Botanicals is an Indigenous Owned and Operated Company founded by ethnobotanist Styawat (Leigh Joseph). Sḵwálwen (skwall-a-win) translates to “heart” or “essence of being” in the Squamish language. This name was chosen to represent the inspiration behind the business: building connections to the land through working with plants in a way that feeds one’s heart and spirit. Their Indigenous skincare line incorporates respectfully harvested botanicals, organic oils, nourishing plant-derived butters and steam distilled essential oils. Their products are handmade in small batches on the Unceded Ancestral and Traditional Territories of the Skwxẃu7mesh (Squamish) First Nation.
